Sowing new Seeds

Get involved

There are many exciting things you can do to become involved in this project:

I live in the Midlands and would like to become a Seed Steward

What is a Seed Steward?

Seed Stewards encourage other people to grow non-traditional crops. They also help us to find out more about growing them.

What benefits do I receive as a Seed Steward?

  • Support, advice and fact sheets from us and other Seed Stewards.
  • Seed for growing exotic crops
  • Signs and labels to set up your demonstration plot
  • Training we will be running training events in growing exotic crops, seed saving and cooking that you can attend

What would I do as a Seed Steward?

You can get involved with a range of activities, depending on your skills, interests and availability. The range of activities on offer includes:

  • We will send you out seed and labels, and you can set up a demonstration plot so others can see how to grow exotic crops
Additionally you may like to
  • Run a seed swap with your allotment or community group
  • Talk to other people at schools, community or religious groups
  • Have a stall at an allotment or garden show
  • Cook some of your produce for others to try

If you are interested, enter your details below and we will get back to you.

Please note that due to the funding of this project, the scheme is only open to people within the Midlands.
