What is a Seed Steward?
Seed Stewards encourage other people to grow non-traditional crops. They also help us to find out more about growing them.
What benefits do I receive as a Seed Steward?
- Support, advice and fact sheets from us and other Seed Stewards.
- Seed for growing exotic crops
- Signs and labels to set up your demonstration plot
- Training we will be running training events in growing exotic crops, seed saving and cooking that you can attend
What would I do as a Seed Steward?
You can get involved with a range of activities, depending on your skills, interests and availability. The range of activities on offer includes:
- We will send you out seed and labels, and you can set up a demonstration plot so others can see how to grow exotic crops
- Run a seed swap with your allotment or community group
- Talk to other people at schools, community or religious groups
- Have a stall at an allotment or garden show
- Cook some of your produce for others to try
